What do I need to know about the changes due to COVID 19?

  • All bookings are encouraged to be made by telephone, email or online.
  • Prior to your appointment time, you will be emailed a screening questionnaire. Please complete this before your arrival.
  • Procedural or surgical masks are required by patients who are recovering from COVID 19 or have been in contact with a confirmed case.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the entry-way. Please disinfect your hands upon entry and exiting the clinic.
  • Treatment rooms including all surfaces and common areas will be thoroughly disinfected between patient visits.
  • Bookings will be limited as there will be fewer appointment times available due to increased cleaning time between appointments.
  • Payments can be contact-less with receipts emailed to patients.
  • We have a large plastic barrier at reception and staff will continue to wear masks as needed.
  • If you have a fever, new cough, worsened cough, sore throat, runny nose or congestion complete the COVID19 self assessment tool https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/ and rebook appointment when symptoms have subsided.

How do I book an appointment?

Are treatment costs covered under OHIP?

Your treatment at PhysioCure is not covered under OHIP. However, you may use any extended health care benefits you have available through work or school. If you are injured in an accident at work, you may be eligible for WSIB to pay for your treatment. If you were injured in a car accident, your treatment will be covered under your automobile insurance policy. Please see our Motor Vehicle Accident section below for more details.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No, you do not need a doctor’s referral to access Physiotherapy, Chiropractic or Massage Therapy in private practice. Some extended health benefit insurance plans require a physician’s referral to access your benefits. Please check with your policy provider for details.

How do I pay for the cost of my treatments?

Payment is accepted by cash, credit/debit, and e-transfer. Direct billing to your insurance company is also available if your policy allows it. We are registered with TelusHealth and various other insurance companies to make direct billing an option. Our fees vary depending on the type of services. What if I was injured at my work or have been told my treatment is covered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)?

In case of a workplace injury, Physiocure will directly send treatment plans and invoices to WSIB and liaise with your case manager. If approved, the cost of your treatments will be covered through WSIB. Please bring us details about your workplace, your injury and if you have your WSIB claim number.

What if my injury occurred because of a Motor Vehicle Accident?

After your initial assessment, our practitioner will submit a treatment plan to your insurance company. Physiocure will submit any invoices directly to your insurance company. Please bring us details about your motor vehicle policy number and if you have a claim number.

Do you offer free consults?

You may still have questions about billing, your condition, and what treatments we can offer you. We offer free consultations over the phone and in person. Treatment duration depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, and other factors. Re-evaluations will be done to assess your progress and your therapist communicates with your physician to help you achieve your therapy goals.

We will check with your health insurance provide to determine if outpatient physical therapy services are covered under your plan. We recommend that you confirm your insurance coverage.
